Questions, answered.

Straight answers for small businesses and independent operators putting professional email on their own domain — without migrating away from the inbox they already use.

Basics Using MailLogic with Gmail

Can I use MailLogic with Gmail?

Yes — that's the whole idea. MailLogic receives mail sent to addresses on your domain and forwards it straight into your existing Gmail inbox. You keep reading and replying in Gmail exactly as you do now; nothing new to check.

Do I need Google Workspace?

No. You don't need Google Workspace or any paid Google plan. A regular free Gmail account works. MailLogic sits in front of your domain and forwards to whatever inbox you already have — Google Workspace is optional, not required.

Does MailLogic replace my inbox?

No. MailLogic isn't a webmail app you have to log into every day. It's the layer that gets domain email into the inbox you already use. Your Gmail stays your inbox — MailLogic just makes [email protected] land there.

Addresses Receiving & forwarding

Can I receive email at admin@ or support@?

Yes. Create role-based addresses like admin@, support@, hello@, or press@ on your domain and forward each one to your Gmail. It's a common setup for small teams that want a professional address for each function without separate mailboxes.

How does forwarding work?

When someone emails an address you've created, MailLogic receives it on your domain and relays it to your chosen Gmail inbox in real time. The message shows the original sender and the domain address it was sent to, so you always know which hat you're wearing when you reply.

How many addresses can I have?

The free receive-and-forward tier includes up to three addresses on your domain. If you need more, that scales with a paid plan — see pricing for the details.

Sending Sending from your domain

Can I send from Gmail using my domain address?

Yes, once sending is enabled on your domain. You can send from your custom-domain address right inside Gmail's compose window, and MailLogic authenticates the message so it arrives properly. Receiving is free; sending is a paid upgrade you turn on when you need it.

Can I use the API to send email?

Yes. When your app or website needs to send from your domain — receipts, notifications, replies — post to the Send API with an API key. See the Send API page for a quick curl and Python example.

Will my sent mail land in spam?

Getting authentication right is exactly what keeps mail out of spam. MailLogic sets up and verifies SPF, DKIM, and DMARC for your domain, and signs each outgoing message — so receiving inboxes can confirm it's genuinely from you.

Setup DNS & getting ready

What DNS records do I need?

To receive, you add an MX record pointing to MailLogic. To send, you also add SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records for authentication. You don't have to work these out yourself — MailLogic generates the exact records and you paste them at your DNS provider. The domain setup page explains each one in plain language.

Does MailLogic work with my registrar?

Yes. MailLogic works with any registrar or DNS provider where you can add records — the records are standard MX, TXT, and CNAME entries. Add them wherever your domain's DNS is managed and MailLogic will detect them.

How long does setup take?

Adding the records takes a few minutes. After that, DNS changes propagate — usually quickly, occasionally up to a few hours depending on your provider. MailLogic re-checks automatically and marks each record OK as it lands, so you'll see when your domain is ready.

Troubleshooting When something's off

What happens if DNS is not set up correctly?

MailLogic won't leave you guessing. Each record shows a live status, and any that's missing or incorrect is flagged with a Check state instead of OK. Fix or re-paste that record and MailLogic re-verifies it. Until MX is in place, mail to your domain won't be forwarded — which is why the status view matters.

I'm not receiving forwarded email — what should I check?

First confirm your MX record shows OK in MailLogic and that the address exists and points to the right Gmail. If DNS only recently changed, give it a little time to propagate. Also check the sender wasn't blocked — MailLogic lets you block specific addresses or whole domains, and blocked senders won't reach your inbox.

Can I block unwanted senders?

Yes. You can block a specific email address or an entire sender domain before it keeps reaching your forwarded inbox. Recent forwarding and sending activity is visible in your dashboard, so you can see what was delivered, sent, or blocked.
